Our Excellence
We differentiate ourselves by establishing multiple "Centres of Excellence" that coalesce all the specialties surrounding a disease, organ, body system, gender or age group under one roof. This coordinated, multi-disciplinary model allows patients to communicate, access, and receive a �one point-of-care service� from the clinical consultants and specialists at each centre. Our clinicians take the time to listen and thoroughly understand the health issues of their patients and provide them with best possible evidence-based cure.
The Hospital is immediately adjacent to the impressive Medical Campus of the University of Sharjah in University City. It comprises 210 beds, 40 specialty Outpatient Clinics, 11 ICU beds, 6 CCU beds, 10 neonatal ICU beds, 9 Day Care Unit beds, 6 Operating Theatres, Labour Ward, 28 Emergency Room beds, and its Pharmacy provides medication to patients at all hours, day and night.
Our Medical Diagnostic Imaging Department has state of the art equipment that includes MRI, 128 slice CT scanner, Ultrasound, fluoroscopy, digital mammography, and bone densitometry. Our Pathology Laboratory is fully equipped with state of the art modern equipment operated by highly qualified, experienced staff.
We are proud to be the first purpose-built University Hospital in the UAE and a centre of medical education and research. All of our carefully selected medical consultants and specialists are also faculty members in the College of Medicine of the University of Sharjah. They all have earned the highest professional and academic qualifications and are continuously enhancing their knowledge and skills, through scientific research and participation in specialized professional conferences and workshops.

The Hospital, which is located at the heart of the fantastic University City on the outskirts of the city of Sharjah, is a magnificent building with state of the art equipment. The facilities, including the staff accommodation next to the Hospital, is world class and our aim is to make the vision of His Highness The Ruler of Sharjah a reality. The close links with the University of Sharjah - and particularly the Medical and Dental Schools - will give an unprecedented opportunity to develop a world class clinical and academic centre of excellence. We will all have the opportunity of being part of something which will be unique and very special.
The clinical areas will have equipment of the highest possible standard and excellent diagnostic support in Pathology and Diagnostic Imaging which will include CT and MRI , Ultrasound and Mammography. The Operating Theatres, Delivery Suites, Intensive Care, Neonatology Intensive Care, Coronary Care and other departments will all be superbly appointed. The strong and developing links with the University which also include Nursing, Allied Health and Health Service Management will give Students at the University the opportunity to participate in the clinical environment.
The Hospital will have one of the most sophisticated Information systems anywhere in the world. The integrated Patient and Business systems will be leading edge with the principle of being "paper light" being a main guiding principle. This will be in effect in all areas of the Hospital.
Our Management Team and Commssioning Team will be expanded over the forthcoming months as we prepare for the opening of the Hospital. We aim to provide a stimulating, professional and rewarding environment for all our staff. We will be working in a collaborative way with many other local institutions and our aim is to become fully integrated into the health and academic community in Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.
