Yateem optician was established in Bahrain in 1910 by late Ali Ahmed Yateem, whose intellect let him to examine the latent demand and venture into this business of ophthalmic optics, this rare breed of intellect grasped the process information from Europe and accepted the challenge of implementing this tough technological innovation in his own country unaided. From a pharmaceutical establishment Mr. Ali Ahmed Yateem laid the foundation of the first optical Establishment in Middle East under the name of “Yateem Optician”.

His son Mr. Abdullah Ali Yateem, joining the same business, proved a back bone towards the beginning of the Empire, Mr. Abdullah Ali Yateem started to import the prescription glasses from Europe and cater to his country people needs together with generating the awareness in his fellow country men about the necessity of this product. The hard work, skill and intellect led this innovation prosper in few years. Under his dynamic leadership began the process of expansion, first in his own country and then overseas in all GCC countries. Mr. Abdullah Ali Yateem started his first overseas expansion from Saudi Arabia and together with his Son Mr. Nasser Abdullah Yateem ventured into United Arab Emirates Market to generate the awareness of the product and fulfill its needs here.

Today Yateem Optician under the dynamic leadership of (Chairman) Mr. Abdullah Ali Yateem and his Sons, (Directors) Mr. Ali Abdullah Yateem, Mr. Ahmad Abdullah Yateem, Mr. Nasser Abdullah Yateem, Mr. Khalid Abdullah Yateem and Mr. Hisham Abdullah Yateem have got a vine of 50 elegant retail outlets in all the prime business locations and elite shopping malls within the GCC, dealing in all leading designer brands in eye ware and catering to all needs and innovations in the industry.

The diversified activities of Yateem optician include the wholesale business of designer frames & sunglasses and Johnson and Johnson contact lenses(J&j) & advance medical optics (AMO) solutions, based at Dubai having the distribution channels in the entire GCC and operated under the trade names of Yateem Vision and YACO trading respectively; hearing aid business based at Dubai and operated under the trade name of Yateem hearing care centre; real estate business based at Dubai.
