Wendy's is a big chain of fast-food restaurants. It was founded by Dave Thomas. As it is known, the first Wendy's restaurant was opened in Columbus, Ohio on November 15, 1969. By 1985 over 3000 new stores have already been opened.

The whole chain of Wendy's restaurants was named after Dave Thomas' 8-year old daughter. Her official name was Melinda, but she had the nickname of "Wendy."
