The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is one of the UAE’s oldest and most prestigious universities. Established in 1993 by the University of Wollongong in Australia, currently ranked in the leading universities in the world, UOWD represented a very early Australian initiative in the Gulf region. From a small beginning opposite Al Mulla Plaza, through its landmark presence on Jumeirah Road to its current location at Dubai Knowledge Village, UOWD is now recognized as being an integral part of Dubai.

As an independent UAE institution of higher education, UOWD attracts students not just from the UAE and Australia but from all over the world. Approximately 3,500 students representing almost a hundred nationalities are currently enrolled at UOWD and enjoy a quality academic experience.

UOWD offers a variety of specialist Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in its three faculties – Business & Management, Finance & Accounting, and Computer Science & Engineering, which are directly linked to the human resource needs of the UAE.

All UOWD degree programs are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. In addition, the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA) includes UOWD in its audits of UOW. UOWD’s Language Studies Center offers language courses in English and Arabic. They range from English language study for University preparation to part time Arabic classes and English language teacher training. The Arabic program focuses on the linguistic as well as the cultural experience, enabling participants to explore and enjoy Dubai’s diversity.

The University’s faculty is a mix of locally and internationally recruited academics with extensive teaching, business and industry experience.
