United Insurance Company

United Insurance Company PSC is one of the oldest insurance companies in the United Arab Emirates, first established as a limited liability UAE company with the authority to write general and life insurance and reinsurance in June 1976. In September 1978 the company was publicly listed on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange.



We are essentially a personal lines insurer (writing home, motor, medical and travel insurance) and an SME and corporate insurer (i.e. writing all classes of commercial insurance) with an emphasis on longer lasting partnerships with our clients. This being said, our client base encompasses a wide spectrum from small personal lines customers of diverse demographics to larger UAE and international corporations.

In 2013 the company embarked on significant restructuring, departing from its traditional reliance on its shareholders and their affiliates to a more 'open market' model. Strategically, we have broadened our distribution channel network. Broker-intermediated business has already increased significantly in real terms and as a percentage of whole. In 2013 we have also more than doubled our licenses and are now active in every UAE emirate and in Al Ain.



Reinsurance is the back-bone of our core offering and we have built an equitable partnership with leading A and AA rated reinsurers on our treaties. Our treaties are lead by Munich Re and Allianz-Global.
