The Consulate General continued performing its functions over it jurisdictions of Dubai and the Northern Emirates namely, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain (UAQ). The Consulate General continued to provide consular services and other related assistance to the Malaysian community and the local population including the large community of expatriates in these Emirates.

Description

The Consulate General of Malaysia in Dubai has been established in 1994. Since 1994, the roles as Consul General and consular matters have been administered by MATRADE officials. The role was officially taken over by Wisma Putra officials on 8 January 2008 with the establishment of three home based staff and seven local recruited staff. Currently, the Consulate General is led by Consul General Mr. Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin (October 2010 - present) and the former Consul General was Tuan Syed Hasrin Tengku Husein (Jan 2008 – September 2010).
