Romanian Air Transport (TAROM)

Romanian Air Transport - TAROM - was established on the 18th of September 1954 and a few years later it was already operating to almost all European countries. On June 25th, 2010, TAROM joined SkyTeam, the global alliance providing customers from member airlines access to an extensive global network with more destinations, more frequencies and more connections. TAROM is currently operating on 50 own destinations as well as destinations operated by its code share partners.

In 1992 TAROM started an intensive fleet modernization process.



In 1992 TAROM bought two AIRBUS A-310, in 1993 two BOEING 737 and three more BOEING 737 in 1994.



Starting 1998, TAROM fleet has extended with seven ATR 42-500 aircraft for domestic and regional flights and four more BOEING 737.



Financing this ambitious strategic project proved to be a rather difficult task: TAROM has invested more than USD 350 million for the purchase of new aircrafts and equipments since 1992. TAROM intends to continue this modernization process by purchasing new modern aircraft. TAROM is currently operating on domestic and international flights with a fleet consisting of 23 aircraft.
