The highly regarded Turkish steakhouse restaurant Nusr-Et was founded by the renowned and affable butcher and meat expert Nusret Gökçe. The menu's primary focus is meat, with each cut of lamb and beef prepared with style. Nusret "spaghetti," Nusret golden steak, and asado ribs are among the restaurant's specialties.Nusret Gökçe, the son of a mineworker and a housewife, was born in the Turkish hamlet of Erzurum. When he was three years old, the family moved to Istanbul. Due to financial troubles, Nusret Gökçe left school in the sixth grade. He tried a number of occupations before landing an apprenticeship at a prestigious butcher shop.
