Piazza Navona is one of the most famous and arguably, the most beautiful of Roma’s many square. The large and lively square features no less then three magnificent fountains. The square is built on the former Domitian’s Stadium, built by emperor Domitian in 86 AD. The stadium, which had a larger arean than the Colosseum was mainly used for festivals sporting events.
The stadium was known as “Circus Agonalis” (competition arena). It is believed that over the time the name changed to “in agone” to “navone” and eventually to “ Navona”.
The main attraction of the Piazza Navona are the three fountains. The central and largest fountain is the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (fountain of the four rivers). It was constructed between 1647 and 1651 on request of the Pope Innocent X.
The design of the fountain was first commissioned to Borromini, but was ultimately handed to his rival Bernini. The fountain features four figures, each representing a river from a different continent. The Nile, Gange, Danube and Rio della Plata. The statues are at the base of a rock supporting an obelisk, originally located at the Massenzio Circus near the Via Appia Antica.
Our logo comes from the Neptune Fountain, known as the Calderari, was built in 1576 by Giacome Della Porta. The statues, Neptuno surrounded by sea numphs were added in the 19th centuries.

The Navona company has a goal, to re-create the authentic Italian feeling into our stores and to develop the concept into Emirates and other GCC countries. It is an hard mission which will bring all our experiences and people to work towards this final goal, to give an authentic Italian ambient, a mix of food, drinks and music. People nowadays travel much more then before, experiencing several new food taste, and to reproduce the authentic Italian taste will be our main mission, to bring the same Italian experiences here in Emirats.
