Originally known as the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment of Environment and Water, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) was founded in February 2006. It was renamed the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment in February 2016 after a cabinet reorganization that included climate change in its mandate. In partnership with pertinent stakeholders, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment spearheads the United Arab Emirates' efforts to combat climate change by encouraging adaption measures, cutting emissions, and revolutionizing important industries. In order to fulfill the UAE's international climate and environmental responsibilities, it aims to reach the country's Net Zero by 2050 ambition.
