The year was 1992. There was a huge gap in the market for a good, high end, pure vegetarian restaurant that offered five-star value at affordable prices. It was this empty niche that led to the opening of our first Kamat Restaurant in UAE. Our philosopy was to propagate the wonders of different cuisines from all major provinces of India. To introduce an exceptionally large variety of dishes , unprecedented service, reasonable pricing, contemporary interiors and hygiene certification , the idea was to have a comprehensive representation.

Kamat was able to garner tremendous respect among the discerning public within a short span of time. Following this success, we soon opened outlets in Mankhool, Ghusais,DIC Food Court, King Faisal Road, Rex Road, Ruwi and Al Khuwair. Wherever Kamat opened ,it was received with a standing ovation in terms of serving to packed houses. Over the years, Kamat has become synonymous with excellent quality food and terrific service.
