About

The Portuguese term for Hawaiians is Havaianas. The first pair was created in 1962 and was modeled after the traditional Zori sandals from Japan, which have rice straw soles. One of the many distinctive features of Havaianas is its rubber soles, which have a texture similar to rice grains. Since 1962, Havaianas has been bringing the Brazilian flair to the world with its recognizable rubber sole and vibrant, summery designs. Havaianas, a global leader in the sandal market with over 252 million pairs sold annually in more than 100 countries, are a beach lover's essential and have come to represent the essence of summer everywhere. Havaianas were first only available in blue and white.

Havaianas were first only available in blue and white. However, a production accident in 1969 led to the creation of a fresh green variant of the Havaianas. Unlucky? We don't believe so. The new model opened up new options and introduced new colours including black, yellow, and brown. As Havaianas continued to gain popularity in the 1990s, they introduced their first floral print, featuring hibiscus flowers. This was the first of many patterned Havaianas. As we already know, the brand underwent a sea change in the 1990s. The Havaianas "Top" style, which is currently offered in 15 colours, was inspired by the fad of flipping the white side of the sandals downwards while leaving the coloured section up, which resulted in sandals that appeared to have just one hue.
