Established in 1976, Gulftainer Company Limited is the largest privately owned port management and 3PL logistics company in the world, based in United Arab Emirates (UAE), and for more than 35 years, we have been delivering world-class performance to our customers.

Our UAE operations include the ‘best in class’ (SCATA Awards) Khorfakkan Container Terminal (KCT) and Sharjah Container Terminal (SCT), as well as port operations and logistics in Ruwais Port in Abu Dhabi, where we manage the facility on behalf of the international plastics company, Borouge.

Our company’s international presence spans over 4 continents and included the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas with projects in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Brazil and the USA.

Gulftainer’s current portfolio covers four UAE operations in Khorfakkan, Sharjah, Hamriyah and Ruwais, as well as activities at Umm Qasr, in Iraq, Recife in Brazil, Tripoli Port in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia where it manages container terminals in Jeddah and Jubail. The company has recently signed a 35-year concession with the Canaveral Port Authority in Florida marking Gulftainer’s first venture in the United States.

We are currently assessing several potential new ventures in line with the company’s commercial strategy and growth, driving its vision of becoming one of the world’s top six container terminal operators by 2020.

In 2008, we launched Momentum Logistics, our fully integrated logistics provider (3PL), and currently ranked a Superbrand in its industry.

Services offered at all sites include Inspection, chemical, steam, and water washing, and container refurbishment, CSC inspections, and plate renewals. All inspections are carried out by IICL5 qualified inspectors and repairs are to IICL5 standards. Materials used are as per Industry specifications and an extensive stock of spare parts carried at all depots. Closed water recycle systems are in use for the dedicated washing bays. Reefer structural repairs can also be carried out including foaming of insulated panels and all major reefer structural parts are carried in stock.



Pre-trip inspections and pre-cooling of reefers is offered as a service. The business also holds the agencies for various reefer manufacturers including Carrier, Thermo King, Starcool and Daiken. The Container Repairs facility is authorized to carry out warranty work under these agencies and maintains a large stock of spare parts. All our reefer technicians have completed extensive training from the various agencies.
