The well-known and highly regarded law firm Dar Al Huqooq was established in Sharjah in1986 in association with law office of Mr. Maroun Mater; it later expanded to open its offices in Dubai. The founder of the firm, Advocate Maroun Matar has more than four decades of legal experience in the UAE, Lebanon and other Middle Eastern jurisdictions.

The members of the legal team of the firm are bilingual or trilingual speakers who combine their legal experience with a deep understanding of Arabic and MENA legal culture and norms. A considerable number of the cases and disputes we resolve in favour of our clients arise out of errors and lack of understanding of UAE laws and judicial practices. We do not believe in recommending expensive and futile Arbitration which result in awards being set aside due to conflict with public policy of the UAE or other MENA jurisdiction. Oru advice is based on experience gained in a civil law jurisdiction and not on common law practice that has little relevance to the UAE laws or other civil laws and judicial principles.
