H.E. Mr. Atiqullah Atifmal joined the Dubai Consulate as The Consul General in April 2011. Prior to his present post, he was working with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan as Director General of the Parliamentary Affairs division and as Acting Director for fifth political division of the Ministry (2009- 2011). Throughout his diplomatic career Mr. Atifmal has held many major positions including Consul General in Los Angeles (2004-2008), Chief of Protocol of H.E. President Hamid Karzai (2001- 2004), Second Secretary of Afghanistan Embassy in Paris (1986-1989), Deputy Chief of Protocol of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991-94).



Mr. Atifmal attended the Master Degree Program in Public Administration in California State University in 2007. He achieved his bachelor degree from Kabul University and also holds a diploma in Philosophy from Moscow State University. Mr. Atifmal received a medal of Excellence Services in 2002 and a certificate of appreciation in1993 from the Government of Afghanistan.

Mr. Atifmal is married and has 5 children, four sons one daughter.

he Consulate General of Afghanistan in Dubai has served to strengthen and promote links with the United Arab Emitares since 2004. Consular staffs provide representation to UAE resident Afghans and also assist non-Afghan nationals in learning about the official procedures in regards to business, travel, and commerce. The Consulate General aims to represent the interests of Afghanistan through the facilitation of mutually beneficial cooperation and exchange.
