Founded in 1968 by Hajj Radwan Othman Ishtay Al Tamimi, the Bu Tafish restaurant is one of the earliest authentic seafood establishments in the area. It began as a little stand with plastic chairs and sun umbrellas, and today it is one of the largest seafood chains in the United Arab Emirates.The late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates, was a supporter of Abu Tafish, which later became a popular seafood gastronomy and culinary destination for tourists from all over the world.
