The now-recognized Dubai institution, which started out as a little seafood shack, is now located in a much larger area in Jumeirah Fishing Harbour, close to Kite Beach and the Burj Al Arab. Make sure you leave any pretentiousness at the entrance and arrive here with an open mind and a hunger. This place has neither a menu nor any bells and whistles. Choose from prawns, which are priced by weight, or whatever was caught fresh from the sea that day.The little seafood restaurant is crowded both inside and out, and because of the long lines of eager patrons, our food takes a while to arrive, but it is definitely worth the wait. In addition to a hearty bowl of rice, a fragrant curry stew, and buttery parathas, we choose the sheri and a portion of prawns, which are both expertly fried and pre-seasoned with potent fresh spices.
