Welcome to the British Veterinary Centre, located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The BVC is dedicated to enhance and expand the human-animal bond for all pet owners in the Gulf region and beyond. We have served the Veterinary needs of the Middle East since 1991. Being strongly committed to this goal our veterinarians and staff in conjunction with other veterinary specialists strive to offer the most knowledgeable, informed and compassionate veterinary care possible for our patients. We understand your pet is part of your family. As pet owners ourselves, we feel the same way. At the British Veterinary Centre, we are committed to providing your pets with the same high-quality medical care we would expect for our own pets.



Founded in the early nineties by Dr. Martin Wyness, one of the first western qualified veterinary doctors in the UAE, the British Veterinary Centre was Abu Dhabi's first animal hospital offering western style veterinary medicine.

The star of the Discovery Channels "Vets in the Sun" Dr Martin Wyness is not just a pioneering veterinarian in the UAE, but a passionate animal rights advocate and educator as well. He earned his veterinary degree at Glasgow University in Scotland, with additional training in Ultrasonography from Penn State University in the US.



Our Clinical Partner and Head Veterinarian, Dr Jonathan Hale qualified at Onderstepoort Veterinary School in South Africa and has additional qualifications in Radiology from the UK, Advanced Orthopedic Surgery from Italy and an interest in avian medicine. Both vets are Members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, signifying a high level of expertise.



The British Veterinary Centre BVC sets as its aim "Best Vet Care ". This means that we endeavor to lead the way with provision of health care for pets in the UAE. We offer the latest treatments for animal illnesses and we invest in the equipment and the most caring staff. We are linked in with our veterinary colleagues in the rest of the UAE, US, UK and South Africa and are happy to include specialist referral when required.
