About Us

Volunteers from the Betta Bricklaying Team regularly and happily serve at Ronald McDonald House in Subiaco, where country children undergoing treatment for cancer and other serious illness can stay in a home environment. They engage with the kids, cook meals and clean. The Team are also enthusiastic participants in fundraising for Prostate Cancer and Depression during the annual Men’s Health ‘Movember’ event.

We regularly pass the hat around at our Team Building Meetings that happen once a month to raise money for PMH children's hospital. These efforts give Betta a solid grounding about where we live and give us time to reflect about the real issues throughout our community and just what is important to us all.

Description

When Michael Johnson, the Managing Director of Betta Bricklaying, Plastering and Scaffolding, assessed his industry, he realised that its standards and reputation desperately needed to be completely redefined. Over two decades he has assembled a powerful team of peak performance tradesmen, apprentices and labourers. The reliability, personal standards and commitment of the Betta Bricklaying workforce have no equal in the construction industry.

The bad old days, when scruffy, foulmouthed brickies turned up (or not) and left when they felt like it are well and truly over. Drug and alcohol use, bad language, arrogance, poor punctuality and shoddy work are simply not tolerated, not only by Management, but by the pride of Betta’s elite team members themselves. The Betta Team operates with military precision, building on their formidable reputation with every project.

Dedicated and highly skilled tradesmen find their ideal home at Betta Bricklaying, where meticulous attention is paid to all aspects of Job Safety. Safety equipment, eye protection and protective high visibility clothing are mandatory on even the smallest job. Sunscreen, hats and cool drinking water are provided in Summer. Workers are all encouraged to observe and immediately report any safety issues. All supervisors are certified in St. Johns First Aid and fully equipped with First Aid Kits.

Maintenance of tools and equipment and performance is constantly monitored, and productivity is instantly recognised and rewarded. Apprentices (the professionals of the future) are nurtured. All workers have stable and ongoing permanent employment with full Superannuation and Long Service Leave.
