The company in its current form was set up in 2005, as a partnership between Al Habtoor Engineering Enterprises LLC, now known as the Al Habtoor Leighton Group, one of the largest civil construction companies in the Middle East, and Specon Ltd., a specialist electromechanical contractor operating until that time in Greece and Cyprus. Al Habtoor - Specon has rapidly developed into one of the key players in electromechanical construction in Dubai. It has gained the reputation of one of the most reliable MEP contractors, through its performance on a number of large and prestigious projects, and has steadily increased its quantity of work both in numbers of projects awarded and magnitude of projects.
