Anna has had a sweet tooth since she was born and has been baking cakes ever since she was a child - well at that stage she was responsible for breaking eggs and licking the bowl in her mum’s kitchen!Her passion for food after studying it at university for 4 years led her to work at Marks and Spencer (a retailer renowned worldwide for high quality food) head office in London as a Product Developer. There she spent many years creating lots of delicious food for the people of the UK to buy.After spending weekends making cakes for family and friends and dreaming of running her own business she moved to Dubai and saw a gap in the market for delicious fresh home baked cakes. The cupcake craze that was sweeping the US and UK had not yet reached Dubai but there were a lot of people who love sweet things!And so it was in October 2007 that Scrumptious was born and the first cupcake was sold at her stall at the Dubai Marina Market before it had even opened. She sold out 3hours later!Scrumptious has now grown in success but is still a small company with Anna making all the cakes herself at home in her own kitchen. Everything is freshly made from scratch with lots of love using the finest ingredients such as organic free range eggs, pure butter and Swiss chocolate (there are absolutely no preservatives or any nasties). Anna believes you get out what you put in - you use great fresh ingredients and you will get great cakes. You really can taste the difference and it is this philosophy which Scrumptious is based on. Anna can now be found smiling away and serving queues of happy customers at various markets throughout Dubai in the cooler months - get there early as she always sells out early! The rest of the time she is in her kitchen in a cloud of flour busily baking orders and dreaming up new creations.
