About Us

Troy University, ITS Sharjah Campus was initially established to cater to nearly one hundred and fifty students who were abandoned by the shifting of the Arab Maritime Transport Academy to Egypt in 1990. Its facilities were taken over with the blessing of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Quasimi and his brother Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohammed Al Quasimi, the present chancellor. Troy University, ITS Sharjah Campus later established the American model transfer program at the undergraduate level in September 1990. Troy University, ITS Sharjah Campus recognizes that it is only through the maintenance of high academic and professional standards for the faculty, staff and students that the Institution can earn the respect of local and international communities.







Troy University, ITS Sharjah Campus is confident that it will play a prominent role in fostering the growth of advanced technological and professional education in United Arab Emirates and the region. The inter-disciplinary approach to study, which is a distinctive mark of the academic program of the American University system, is retained in full in courses offered by the institutions. This approach to higher education enables students and the members of the faculty to reach beyond a single field of study to examine issues and problems from various perspectives and to prepare for the global market. Troy University, ITS Sharjah Campus moved to a modern building, with modern lecture halls and laboratories. The computer, electronic, biology, chemistry, and physics laboratories are fully equipped with several Pentium 4 computers with network access to the Internet.

Sharjah College are: 1.To provide curricula closely related both academically and professionally with the actual requirements for the development and scientific progress anticipated in United Arab Emirates and the region. 2. To provide curricula that has been adapted to preserve the cultural heritage of United Arab Emirates and the region. 3. To enable students to acquire knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that will lead to satisfaction and productivity in their chosen careers. 4. To enhance their critical thinking in order to meet the requirements for the development and scientific progress. 5. To provide student activities to supplement formal learning through extracurricular development of social, recreational and cultural dimensions of complete university experience. 6. To ensure the retention of a highly experienced and qualified faculty and to provide them with opportunities to keep abreast with development in their professional fields. 7. To establish strong relationships with local and international organizations.
