The secondary section of the school was established in 2004, enabling us to cater for students aged 3 to 19; following a broad and balanced curriculum based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales, running classes from Foundation to A-level.

In addition to Academic success, the school offers a varied and wide range of extracurricular opportunities and has established a proud reputation for music, arts and a growing record for success in sport.

A developing school, mainly staffed by UK qualified teachers, SES prides itself on a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, and enjoys close purposeful links with parents and the community.

SES students represent over forty nationalities. We are proud of our students academic achievement; they are proud of their school and the high standards of behaviour and appearance.

Description

Sharjah English School was originally established as a primary school by British companies seeking to provide a British education for the children of their personnel. Our constitution was approved under a special decree by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohamed Al-Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah, and representatives of the founding companies became the governors of the school. Land was presented to the school by the Ruler and money was raised to construct the building previously located near the “Old Fort”, close to the centre of the city. The school moved to its new site in 2006, again on land generously donated by the Ruler.
