Established in 1975, initially as a supplier of Electro-mechanical products and a Building Maintenance company, we were one of the few companies who had been awarded many Maintenance Contracts for Residential and Commercial Buildings owned by both the Private and Government Departments. With all the infrastructure readily available including manpower and supply channels, we were given preference in all the Tenders.



From the beginning, the uniqueness of this company has been dedication, customer interaction, and support and, within a span of five years, by 1980, the service brought several distinctions to the company and GEC has become the integral part in the arena of Commercial and Residential buildings as a trusted supplier of Electrical products and as a Maintenance Company with proven track record.

The trust and confidence shown by our customers made us more responsible and from the feedback from them we have decided to diversify our activities to see the possibility of offering Quality Home Appliances to the increasing Populations and Households. In 1980 we have been appointed by PHILIPS as their Exclusive Agents for their various products in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain region.



In 1989, when Whirlpool acquired Philips Major Appliances Division, we were retained as Whirlpool’s Authorized and Exclusive Agent for their brand of Appliances in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. To support Philips Luminaire business to various Building projects, we have taken the exclusive agency of VENTILUX (an Ireland based Company) brand Emergency Lighting products which include Emergency Lights, Exit Lights both maintained and non-maintained versions.



We are also the agents for Bosch Security Systems (formerly a part of Philips under the name Communication & Security Imaging Division)



In order to expand our business we have established Sister Companies which is effectively functioning as independent entity on the matter of Sales & Marketing with separate supporting departments. To streamline the functions, the retail and project divisions are operated separately as this enables us to make a qualitative and professional approach to two different segments. The project division is divided into three sub-groups to look after Lighting, Low Voltage Systems, Appliances & Interactive TVs for Hospitality Industry with specialized Engineers and Sales professionals.
