Dr. Mazen Abou Chaaban began his journey in pediatrics in Cologne, Germany, where he was honoured with the distinguished “FACHARZT” title and a fellowship in pediatric nephrology, after receiving his licence to practice medicine. He worked and lectured at the University Children’s Hospital for ten years, before relocating to the UAE to establish the nation’s first nephrology centre. He was appointed Head of the Pediatrics and Nephrology Department in the government hospital in Dubai, and for the past decade he has worked in the city’s private sector as Pediatric & Pediatric nephrology consultant. One of the few doctors in the region to specialize in pediatric nephrology, Dr. Mazen has now taken his passion for pediatrics a step even further, by opening a second branch of his own clinic in Motor City.
Highly sought after for his knowledge and expertise in the field, Dr. Mazen has been treating and looking after children here in the UAE for the past 20 years. He held a position as a professor at Dubai Medical College, and for the past decade has extended his expertise in pediatrics and kidney disease as a consultant through the American Hospital in Dubai, City Hospital, Al Mousa Medical Centre, Wellness Medical Center and MedGate Center.
In addition to establishing and being appointed Head of the Pediatrics and Nephrology Department in the government hospital in Dubai, and running two private clinics (at MedGate Center in Jumierah and Dr. Mazen Pediatric Speciality Clinic in MotorCity), Dr. Mazen is the former President of the Pan Arab Pediatric Nephrology Association (PAPNA), and former Co-President of the Emirates Medical Association’s Nephrology Society (EMAN).
