About Us
The oldest building in this palace was built in 1937 and was restored when the palace was turned into a museum some years ago. There are many other facilities that were appended later to the palace, when Sheikh Zayed first decided to live in it. New items were also introduced to the building, and the local architectural features were taken into consideration when the palace was prepared to be turned into a museum. Such items included the outer fences and the management building. The museum was inaugurated in 2000.
Description
It is located at the western edge of Al Ain oasis, on the roads leading to the industrial district. It reflects the past history of a man who turned his dream into reality and managed to found an advanced state in a record time. It was first the palace of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan where he lived during the 1960s.
